This week in our Transforming Thoughts book club, we continued reading The Breaking of the Outer Man and the Release of the Spirit by Watchman Nee, entering Chapter 2: Before and After the Breaking.
We explored the deep truth that God desires not just outward action but the release of His Spirit through us. When our outer man remains unbroken, we may look spiritually active, but our inner life stays locked away—untouchable, unmoved, and ineffective. But when the Lord breaks us in love, what flows out is life-giving, Spirit-filled expression.
We reflected on the difference between outward performance and inward alignment, and how many of us still struggle to consistently dwell in God’s presence—not because He has moved, but because our soul is responding to everything except His Spirit.
💔 Whether you’ve ever felt spiritually stifled, emotionally reactive, or disconnected from your own voice—this chapter calls you into greater surrender and release.
🕊️ We were also reminded: God’s presence is not maintained through memory, effort, or activity—it is sustained by the Spirit, and the Spirit flows when the outer man is broken.
✨ We gather live every Thursday at 7:15 PM PT on Clubhouse. Come join us!
